Astrology — W.D. Gann [AlgoFuego]
Gann spent decades studying a question most traders never dare to ask:
What if planetary motion isn't mythology — but a clock?
A clock that has been marking market turning points for over a century.
W.D. Gann — the most studied trader of the 20th century — built his entire forecasting methodology on a radical idea: that market time is governed by the same celestial mechanics that govern everything else in nature. Not as superstition. As a repeating, measurable cycle.
As above, so below. The stars and planets have their cycles of time just the same as everything else, and these cycles repeat. By knowing the cycles and the laws, we can determine in advance when changes will occur.
The logic is deceptively simple. The precision is not. Real-time astronomical calculations track each planet's exact ecliptic longitude. The moment it crosses 0° of the selected sign, the engine executes.
The indicator continuously computes the real ecliptic longitude of any of the 10 supported planets — from the Moon's rapid 28-day cycle to Pluto's 248-year orbit — using precise astronomical formulas inside Pine Script v6.
When the planet's computed longitude crosses into the selected zodiac sign boundary — in Tropical or Sidereal coordinates — the transition is detected on the exact bar it occurs. No lag. No approximation.
Entry fires in the configured direction (Long or Short) at the open of the bar following the ingress event. A fixed holding period — measured in trading days — defines how long the position is held, mirroring Gann's time cycle methodology.
Stop-loss and take-profit levels execute automatically if hit during the holding period. If a new planetary ingress fires precisely at the exit bar, the trade extends — reflecting Gann's principle that overlapping celestial events amplify market turns.
Most indicators layer complex calculations on price data hoping to find a pattern. This one watches a clock that has been running for 4.5 billion years. When the planet crosses the boundary — the system responds.
Gann studied both the Western and Vedic astrological traditions. The indicator supports both — separated by the ~23° Ayanamsa correction.
Anchored to Earth's equinoxes and solstices. 0° Aries = March equinox. The standard system in Western financial astrology research. Most Gann students begin here.
Anchored to the fixed constellations with automatic Ayanamsa correction (~23–24°). Planetary positions shift relative to Tropical. Some markets show stronger correlations in Sidereal.
The celestial event triggers entry. Everything after — holding period, risk management, performance tracking — runs automatically. You observe. The system executes.
Equity Curve (Illustrative)
Performance data is illustrative. All statistics update automatically as planetary cycles complete. Commission simulation available separately.
Planetary positions computed bar-by-bar using mathematical astronomical formulas. Signals fire the exact moment the planet crosses a sign boundary — no external data feed, no API dependency, no delay.
Configure holding period in trading days. If a new ingress fires on the exit bar, the trade extends automatically — capturing cycle overlap. Exit by date or bar count. Both modes available.
Percentage-based SL and TP levels plotted on chart. Trigger before the holding period ends if the market moves decisively against — or with — the planetary signal. Independent alert for each event.
Total trades, win rate, min/max/average returns, compound equity growth before and after commissions, and bars remaining until the current trade closes. Updates live as cycles complete.
Candles color automatically by trade state — bullish during long cycles, bearish during short, neutral in flat periods. Immediately shows which bars were under planetary influence.
Entry, Exit, Stop-Loss, and Take-Profit alerts are individually configurable via TradingView. Push notifications and email supported. Monitor planetary trade events without watching the chart.
Both systems read the same planet, the same instant, the same orbital motion. What changes is the reference point. Toggle between Tropical and Sidereal and watch the ~23° Ayanamsa shift move the ingress boundary — and the signal timing — to a different point in the sky.
Jupiter moves through its true ecliptic longitude. The 0° boundary of Aries is fixed to the March equinox. The instant Jupiter's longitude crosses that seasonal marker, the ingress fires — no correction applied.
Jupiter's real-time position is computed directly from astronomical formulas — no offset applied.
The seasonal equinox marker is the sign boundary — Jupiter ingresses into Aries exactly here.
Long entry triggers at the open of the following bar — the Western financial astrology standard.
